The real estate industry is changing at an alarming pace, and consequently so our neighborhoods. The time for ground up solutions is now. Houston is home to several organizations that play a significant role in the policies and practices that shape local development. With transit options, housing affordability, and economic growth at risk, it's imperative to learn to work collaboratively across disciplines.
ULI’s Urban Plan program gives participants exposure to real estate development and an opportunity to gain a shared understanding of everyone’s perspective roles in the process. Using a mock city and a set of development goals, attendees work in groups to navigate the various hurdles that exist in real estate development. In this workshop we will begin building alliances and coalition across organizations to promote the principles and practices that create places for people to thrive.
